Present set-up is to designed to observe the laminar, transitional and turbulent flow of fluid and to find the Reynolds Number. The apparatus consists of a glass tube mounted vertically and connected to a constant head water tank, at the other end a valve is provided to vary the rate of flow.A capillary tube is introduced centrally of the tube for feeding dye from a small container placed at the top of tank. By varying the rate of flow of water, the Reynolds number is changed. This also changes the type of flow. Visual observation of dye (Thread) will indicate the type of flow, which can be confirmed from the Reynolds number computed. The Overhead tank for water will be provided with calming section. Water supply for the set-up will be provided from end user, as it is an accessory of Hydraulic Bench otherwise user will require Hydraulic Bench.
