Advanced Variable Speed Control

The rig employs an AC induction motor with a variable frequency drive, allowing operators to adjust the pump speed between 0 and 2800 RPM. This flexibility enhances experimental scope and enables detailed analysis of pump performance under various conditions.

Reliable Safety Features

Overload and overheat protections are integrated into the control panel, ensuring safe operation during continuous laboratory use. With air-cooled motors and robust construction, the rig minimizes downtime and maintains operational safety standards.

Precision Measurement Instruments

Equipped with an electromagnetic flow sensor and digital or mercury manometer, the rig guarantees highly accurate measurement of flow rates and head, with a measurement accuracy of 1%. Clear digital displays facilitate quick data capture and analysis.

FAQ's of CENTRIFUGAL PUMP TEST RIG (WITH VARIABLE SPEED):

Q: How is speed adjustment achieved on the CENTRIFUGAL PUMP TEST RIG (WITH VARIABLE SPEED)?

A: The speed is regulated through an AC induction motor equipped with a variable frequency drive, allowing precise adjustments from 0 up to 2800 RPM using an integrated speed controller on the electrical panel.

Q: What type of experiments can be conducted using this test rig in a fluid mechanics laboratory?

A: This rig is ideal for performance testing of centrifugal pumps, examining pump characteristics under different flow rates and heads, and studying efficiency, NPSH (net positive suction head), and system curves relevant for teaching and research applications.

Q: When should the overload and overheat protection features be utilized?

A: These safety features automatically activate when the rig detects excessive load or temperature during operation, protecting the motor and pump. Users should always monitor indicators and allow the unit to cool before restarting if these protections are triggered.

Q: Where is this equipment best installed for optimal operation?

A: Due to its floor-mounted design and operational requirements, the rig should be installed indoors in a dedicated laboratory area with stable power supply and space for safe monitoring and data collection.

Q: What is the process for measuring water flow in this test rig?

A: Water flow is measured in real time using an integrated electromagnetic flow sensor. The readings are displayed on a digital flow meter, and operators can adjust pump speed to study variable flow rates between 0 to 100 LPM.

Q: How does the transparent acrylic water tank benefit laboratory experiments?

A: The acrylic tank enables clear visualization of the water level and flow patterns during testing, enhancing understanding and improving the accuracy of experimental observations and data collection.

Q: What are the main benefits of choosing this rig for lab testing and performance analysis?

A: Key benefits include variable speed operation, high accuracy measurements, robust safety features, durable powder-coated and stainless steel construction, user-friendly controls, and comprehensive support for laboratory training and research programs.
